Tigerseye is a metamorphic Quartz mineral. It is actually a silca replacement of natural asbestos fibers creating the beautiful chatoyant gemstone Tigerseye. It is also known as Hawkseye (blue variety of Tigerseye), Tiger Iron when associated with Jasper and Hematite bands and various special varieties such as Marra Mamba which also includes some Hematite. Out of the different varities Marra Mamba tends to be the jewelers choice.
