I am astounded that I had never put my Forest Fire Plume on the website! I was telling someone to look at it the other day and realized it wasn't there (fixed). Forest Fire Plume comes from the South Cady Mtns. and it occurs as seam material in the hard rock under about a 1ft layer of ash. The seam is found fractured into decent size plates and it was then folded and lifted so when you dig the plates out some are vertical and some horizontal. The material that occurs at about an inch thick is sweet and has very repetitive patterns so once it is oriented on the saw just slab away. The material from this last trip was much thicker. I had found this spot about 10 years ago and named it and sold some on Ebay but just recently saw another "forest fire plume" in a book that comes from Idaho. Comparing the two I think this material is more deserving of the name. The Idaho material looks more like a small brush fire or a dying mans faint heartbeat on the EKG.
